Simplifying The Selections Process

on Friday, 05 February 2021.

So, you have made the decision to remodel your kitchen, the contract is signed, scheduling has started, and now the real work begins! From cabinets, to fixtures, appliances, tile, and more our sales staff at Boardwalk Builders will guide you through the selection process from start to finish. Since the selection process can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, I wanted to highlight a few key factors anyone planning a kitchen remodel will find helpful.

When designing your new kitchen, cabinets might be the single most important selection! Sure, you are dreaming of a sparkly new fridge or coveting sleek granite counter tops, but cabinet design lays the foundation in all kitchen projects. Cabinet layout and design must suit the space constraints and be tailored to your specific needs. A practical necessity for storage of food and kitchen items, cabinetry also serves as a main focal point in your kitchen, as visually the eye is drawn to the vertical planes of your kitchen first. Whether you want custom built or choose Bertch or other manufactured cabinets, there are truly cabinet designs for every space.

Along with cabinets, many clients stress over choosing the right tile for their kitchen backsplash, and when it comes to backsplash- the options are plentiful. Tile collections come in multiple sizes, colors, and shapes which allows artistic freedom and an opportunity to select a design that fits your personality. Larger tiles can make a space feel larger, while smaller tiles can be used to create designs with unique shapes and layouts. Grout color must also be considered, using a complementary grout will create a subtle finish or use a contrasting color to place emphasis on the linear design. Our Team at Boardwalk will provide tile elevations and encourage our clients to select tile in person to help visualize the end result.

Being the heart of the home and a working area, kitchens are an area that most people spend a lot of time in: cooking, eating, chatting at the island, and cleaning up after every meal or snack. Selecting kitchen plumbing fixtures may seem like a small detail, but they are used every single day! The right fixture can add flair and personality to your space and pull together the final look and function of your kitchen design. As we spend more time at home, cooking more, and washing our hands about a million times a day, faucet fixtures should be selected to fit your personalized needs.
