Condo renovations can be tough, many clients want to reinvent their home but are constrained by the existing footprint. It was no different for this project, an aging but well-loved beach condo that didn’t bring in natural light and featured dated design elements like exposed block walls. But with some creative thinking and attention to detail, we were able to brighten this home with new windows, expand the space by opening and updating the kitchen, and refreshing the master bathroom.

The end of a project is often bitter-sweet for us. Although we love to see the joy on our client's face when they see their new space, it's sometimes hard to say goodbye after spending time together over the course of the remodel. So we are always thrilled when a past client calls us to redo another room in their house. It's like reuniting with old friends. That was the case with our latest kitchen remodel. Project Developer Kelsey Hamilton, talks about how she worked with second time clients Anna May & Karen, to give them the kitchen of their dreams.

Rehoboth Beach, DE (March 6, 2018) - Boardwalk Builders has recently been named an Authorized Replacement Contractor (ARC) of Marvin products. This selective program gives contractors the opportunity to differentiate themselves in the highly competitive replacement market by selling and installing Marvin and Integrity window and door products.

Here are a few tips to help keep your home safe during Hurricane Season:

• Hurricane winds can cause trees and branches to fall-- trim or remove damaged trees and limbs to keep you and your property safe.

• Secure loose rain gutters and downspouts and clear any clogged areas or debris to prevent water damage to your property.

• Reduce property damage by retrofitting to secure and reinforce the roof, windows and doors, including the garage doors.

• Either board up windows or protect them with storm shutters.

• Bring outdoor furniture, garbage cans, and other moveable objects into the house or tie them down very securely.

• Purchase a portable generator or install a generator for use during power outages. Remember to keep generators and other alternate power/heat sources outside, at least 20 feet away from windows and doors and protected from moisture; and NEVER try to power the house wiring by plugging a generator into a wall outlet.

• Take photos of your house inside and out to assist in settling insurance claims and to prove uninsured losses for tax deductions.

• If your area floods frequently, always have a good stock of sandbags, plywood, plastic sheeting and lumber to protect your property.

We think we’re second to none in design, but there’s one person who has us beat when it comes to creating beautiful surroundings… and that’s Mother Nature! So it was no surprise when our clients, John and Leslie, came to us wanting to convert their porch into a sunroom so they could enjoy all the beauty Mother Nature has to offer, year round.

We call this project “Third Time’s a Charm” because this was Robert and Julie’s (our client) third attempt remodeling their master bathroom. Gasp! I know, we couldn’t believe it either! The first time they hired a contractor to renovate their bathroom, and ended up with shower leaks. They then had someone fix/redo the shower, and to their dismay, it leaked again. The extent of the water damage was so bad that they had to complete gut the bathroom. Finally, after two failed attempts at getting a beautiful, structurally sound master bath, Robert and Julie called US!

When Paul & Joanna approached us with the desire to do a full-scale remodel of their oceanfront penthouse, we couldn't have been more excited. Although the 1970's condo had breathtaking views of Bethany beach, the dated interior was far from impressive. We had one goal in mind with this remodel, and that was to make the interior as beautiful as the view outdoors. Here’s a look at what we did:

The annual Boardwalk BBQ has always been a celebration and this year was no different. 2016 Marks our 30th anniversary, and our largest BBQ turn out yet!
